A pleasant warm climate averaging
27 C degrees all year round and good visibility in Bali's waters
await every divers its impressive dive sites. The best time of the
year for diving is the dry season from April to October; the wet
season from November to March can quite torrential.
Even
waters close to the shore, there are excellent diving and snorkeling
areas teeming with a wide range of tropical fish. Dolphins, rays,
Sperm and Blue Whales, sea snakes and moral eels are frequently
sighted and reefs are in pristine condition.
The best place for diving and snorkeling in Bali are in the off
shore waters of Padang Bay and Candidasa in the east, and at Tulamben
and Amed. From Singaraja in the north, the coastal road leads west
of Lovina and its beautiful beach. Further on is Pemuteran and in
the western tip of Bali is Labuan Lalang, the kick off point to
Menjangan Island, an uninhabited island with excellent dive sites.
Nearly 7000 of coral reef and coastal waters are protected as part
of the Bali Barat National Park, including Menjangan Island.
In the southern Bali, there is a reef in Sanur. The island of Nusa
Lembongan, Nusa Penida.
